PERLA KRAUZE
Filming in Perla’s art studio is like being inside one of her installations. She uses the space as a canvas, repositioning objects to draw out new meanings. Even the shadows, moving across the wall, change the way that the objects relate.
From a piece of ladder metalwork, found on the streets of London when Perla was an art student, to volcanic stones retrieved from Pedregal, the landscape that she grew up in, Perla seeks out objects that have their own stories. Whether it’s by recasting a found object in bronze, painting along a stone’s natural grooves, or pairing a graphite rubbing with something unexpected, she creates constellations that are both quiet and profound.
