To make this short documentary about Kojo Marfo’s practice, we spent the day with Kojo in his South London studio, discussing the burdens and blessings of life and the inspiration that comes from the simple act of people watching. Kojo has an entirely unique view of the world, yet his paintings touch on universalities that we can all identify with.

Much of Kojo’s inspiration comes from observing the world around him and we wanted the style of the film to reflect this. A zoom lens was used to capture the world from Kojo’s perspective, honing in on details of the lives of passing strangers.
