ENRIQUE JEŽIK
Acá no queda nada [nothing remains here]
Enrique’s works set out to critique the politics of control, both seen and unseen. Using industrial materials, weapons and war machinery, his sculptures loom large and are born of dangerous processes. The aggressive sounds of production imbue his works with a tension that is hard to explain unless you’ve witnessed their creation!
Growing up in Argentina during the military dictatorship (1976-1983), it took Enrique 10 years to process this experience, and today his works offer a discourse on his own experience and understanding of repression, oppression, and migration.
